2011 has indeed been a busy year! So much so, that I haven't had time to update my site! I've been quite busy with school. Spring, Summer, and Fall classes have all passed me by, and I have learned much. Check out my portfolio page to see some of the work I've been up to. I'm also happy to say I've still maintained my 4.0 GPA throughout my time in grad school so far. Holidays are upon us and Winter Classes are starting soon. I'm hoping to graduate at the end of the summer with my M.A. in Motion Media Design.
I've produced two more Sesame games, Twiddle Chorus
and Bert and Ernie's Printmaker
and I'm currently in the process of creating some new HTML5 games.
I'm now an advanced green belt in karate, ever so slowly inching my way to black.
I've also created my first game for a game design class that can be found here
My trip to China was quite amazing. Unfortunately, I was denied access to Lhasa, but I was able to see other areas of China I really enjoyed. You can read about my adventures more in detail in my travel blog. As always, can't wait for my next adventure.
I also upgraded my site slightly to be more aesthetically pleasing as well as introduce the concept of my map. You can click anywhere to see what I have done in that particular location. More upgrades coming with that on its way.
Last but not least, I give you the X-Mix 11 . See you in 2012!

3.27.11
My second term of grad school was also fantastic. Aced my Art History class and still rocking the 4.0 GPA. Spring term starts tomorrow where I will be rocking Cinematography and Motion Graphics classes. It will be an intense but very rewarding quarter :)
Another game I produced has launched online. My first for Sesame Street.org! Check out Super Grover 2.0: Super Missions. Click on the images below to play the game, and stay tuned for additional missions to be added in the future!

I have also just purchased my tickets to China! I'm very excited! I'm heading to Beijing, Xi'an, Lhasa, and Shanghai! I can't wait to share my pictures and stories with you when I go and return in June!
Karate has also been going well. I've started fighting, and amid the bruises and injuries, I'm definitely learning and getting stronger. Hoping to participate is some upcoming tournaments soon.
Hopefully spring will come soon! See you next time!

12.6.10
My first term of grad school was a total success! I took two online classes, and I finished out the term with a 4.0 GPA! Take a look at my portfolio page to view my final typography clip edited with After Effects.
I also launched a new game I produced with the Martians titled Exploration Earth! Yip yip! Click on the image below to play the game!
Last but not least, I participated in a karate tournament, received 4th place, and also my advanced yellow belt. Even between work and school, I'm still kicking butt in the gym.
Currently working on a lot of great and exciting projects. Stay tuned for the XMix! See you in 2011.

9.10.10
I have officially been promoted to Associate Producer! I am very excited and very happy to be awarded this position after all of my hard work at Sesame. Take a look at my updated resume.
I have also landed a new apartment a little further out in Brooklyn. A gutted out old building with all new appliances and brand new everything. I can't wait to move!
I'm also starting my Master's degree next month. I can't wait to learn some new tips and tricks in this ever changing media world.
I have returned from my Peru adventure, and wow was it amazing. Hiking the Inka Trail is truly a life changing experience I recommend everyone partake in once in their lives. Read all about my exploits on my travel blog, Travels With Lori. Also take a look at a few of my pictures on the Art page.

6.20.10
First and foremost, I got accepted into the Savannah College of Art and Design! Hurrah! I am going to be studying Motion Media Design and receiving an MA from this online degree program. I'm so excited I can't wait!
I also participated in the 48 Hour Film Fest in the Comedy Genre again this year. Comedy is the hardest. Here is the film I edited with Final Cut She Tweets.
Other than that I cleaned up the code on my site a bit and am leaving for Machu Picchu Tuesday. Check out my travel blog when I return for exciting pictures and updates from Peru. Peace.

03.30.10
Got lots of updates for you! First up: I taught myself After Effects and created this little typography piece.
Secondly, the musical I was a Production Assistant for RIPFEST is finally online. Check out As The Wheel Goes Round.
I'm also going up for my yellow belt in karate in a few weeks. After much hard work, I'm 1/2 through the kyu belts, my body is in great shape, and I've met a fantastic group of friends.
I have also just purchased my tickets to Peru. In June, I will be flying down to Lima and Cusco to climb Machu Picchu. It will for sure be the trip of a lifetime. I can't wait for this adventure!
Last but not least, I completed my Oil Painting class at the 3rd Ward. I have produced a nice self portrait from this class as you can see below. View the full size in the Art page.

02.10.10
It's been awhile. We're in the new year and new things are abound. Still finishing up some grad school applications. Hope to hear back from some of them soon.
I have started on the production of the 2nd game I will be producing. This one is going to be fantastic! I can't wait to share it!
This Sunday, I will be starting an Introduction to Oil Painting class. I'm really excited to learn how to oil paint. I feel this art class will improve and assist my creativity.
Last but not least, I present a new tattoo design. Check out the Art page.

12.13.09
The game I produced, Bert In: Pigeon Trouble, is now live and ready to play! After much hard work, I'm very pleased with the results. You can view it on PBS Kids. Give it a play!
In addition to my new game, I have also started blogging. This is a travel blog I created called Travels With Lori to log my personal international travels as well as giving international travel tips coming soon. Give it a read!

11.2.09
So I have been trying to streamline my content and design a little more in preparation for my application to grad school. I've decided that I need to learn more in depth skills to increase my knowledge and expand my career.
I was pleased to also locate on You Tube a commercial I worked on in 2007 for Turbo Tax. I'm hoping to get my head back into editing, so look for more in the future. Peace.

6.29.09
So I have been quite busy after my return. I've started taking karate and am progressing quite well in it, and I love it.
I am also now producing a game for PBS Kids.org titled "Bert In: Pigeon Trouble." It's going to be really great. When it's all live I'll post a link up to it.
I've also been quite busy in the film world. I PAed on the film "The Wheels Go Round" for a film festival called Ripfest. I also participated in the 48 Hour Film Festival for New York City. I'll post those as soon as they are available.
After jillions of years I finally have my own business cards! But of course not after I had given up and made my own. Ah well, now I have personal and professional. It all good.
My next endeavor is to teach myself some more freaking javascipt so I can build the video player for my portfolio page. It will happen! Fear not. I'll check you later.

4.13.09
I have returned from my adventures in the Far East! I had a really amazing time experiencing different Asian cultures and meeting new people. Asia is quite different from Europe and America, but I love it! I can't wait for my next adventure.
You can see a few pictures from my adventure, and many of my others on my newly created Art Page. This is my place to show you things I have finger painted on the walls of the apartments I have lived in, my tattoo designs, and some exciting pictures from places I have traveled. Hope you enjoy!
In work related news, I am now in-charge of the coding/updating content for the Parents Section Activities at PBS Kids Sesame and also the Sesame Newsletter.
My next hope for this site is to create a video player to organize my videos and audio and make my Portfolio page seem more clean. Peace.

3.8.09
So I finally did it! I created an entirely new layout! I love it! I think it's a lot more indicative of my personality. What do you think? I want to hear your feedback!
Stay tuned for an updated layout of my portfolio page. It will be fantastic.
At the end of this month I will be heading on a journey to Seoul, South Korea and Tokyo, Japan. I cannot wait! I'll tell you all about it when I return. Peace.

1.28.09
After much work, I was able to finally create exactly what I wanted in my portfolio page. Everything is now hosted on my site and I don't need to rely on You Tube and its embedding and bad quality footage.
Stay tuned for a global design change. I'm ready do get out of this box design. In addition, I want to add some other features like art, photos, and tattoo designs. It will be good. Check back soon. Peace.

12.16.08
X-Mix 08 is available for download! I decided to be more green and not make mix CDs. Also, my circle of friends has grown more global and I want to accommodate for that as well.
Stay tuned...I'm working on some javascript to make this site even more amazing! Hopefully I'll get that done over the holidays.
Workwise, I am now in charge of uploading videos to the Sesame Street You Tube pageMake sure you check it out and watch some great clips!
I have also recently moved to Williamsburg in Brooklyn! I love this place SO much. It is near great bars, food, the city, and people my age.

8.17.08
After all of our hard work, I am pleased to present to you the new Sesame Street website! After months of hard work it lives! If you check out the playlist section, I created all of the playlists found there. Some of my personal favorites include the playlists "Great Guitarists," "Reggae," and "Feeling the Blues."
I have also recently returned from a Eurotrip. I visited Spain, France, and Italy. It was a great trip and I learned and experienced so much. I can't wait until I get the chance to journey again.
I have also entered Stephen Colbert's Green Screen Challenge to make McCain more interesting. You can check it out on my Youtube page.
Still working at Sesame, and things look good. Peace.

4.13.08
I've only done a few minor updates again. Added a links page and updated my resume a tad bit. I was thinking about doing this whole site in Flash, but I've decided to keep the design fairly simple. I'm actually pretty pleased with it right now. Might tweak the design a bit next time we'll see.
Still working at Sesame Street and loving it. Also freelancing a few websites on the side. Hopefully doing a bit of traveling soon.

1.27.08
So I have survived January so far. January and February are my least favorite months of the year. Also I hate the cold, and NYC is very cold in the winter time.
As the World Turns has launched its new website that I sometimes appear on the home page of haha. Check it out! Takes awhile to load though.
I have only done a minor update to the site, but I figured I would talk a little of my new job. I added another website that I designed, and I took snapshots of some of the sites I gave to clients incase they changed my design.
So I'm working as a Production Assistant in the Digital Media department of the Sesame Street Workshop helping out with the launch of their new website in June. It's a really great office, and I'm glad I'm there until June...and hopefully longer!
Check back soon. My next update will probably be v3.0 of the site. Peace.

1.2.08
Happy new year. Meaning I get to change all the copyrights at the bottom of the page to 2008! In addition I added some new videos I worked on while editing the My Home 2.0 project. I also updated my resume with my new job at the Sesame Street Workshop! I got a part time job as a production assistant, and I start tomorrow with a 6 month contract! I'm very excited!
In addition to that excitement I just finished up PAing a commercial for Quickbooks/Turbo Tax, and I moved to Brooklyn (I'm not a hipster I swear). Brace yourself...08 looks great!

12.1.07
Here we are again. I got promoted from intern on the show to assistant editor for Episode 3 of the show "My Home 2.0!" It should be up soon on youtube. Now that is finished I'm up for hire once again. Download a copy of my resume and send it to everyone you know!! I really need the cash now too. I'm moving to Brooklyn on January 1st. Back to drawing board...don't expect an X-mas present from me.

11.1.07
So its been awhile. I've been a bit busy with my new job. Check out my portfolio page and my resume for some more updates. Geeze I've edited over 200 videos for youtube, designed 2 websites, and traveled to PA almost every weekend to help with casting. Whew! Great experience! Can't wait until I find my next job when this project is over and start making some cash money! I hate this approaching time of find another job and another apt. at the same time go! Hopefully the subletting and the interning will be over with soon. Also need to start thinking about getting some business cards made. Any ideas on a title for me? New Media Editor? You tell me!
So some pretty major changes to my resume and my portfolio page. FINALLY every single link on my site works and all the media should play for your pleasure. I am pleased. Stop back again very soon!

9.19.07
So I switched up the Flash a little. The other one looked kinda dumb and was annoying. I think the one I have in now looks a lot more professional and works better with all the browsers of the world.
Half of the audio is now working! Haha we're getting there! Next update I swear they'll all work! And I'll get a uniform audio file going so you're not jumping from Quicktime to iTunes or whatever.

9.18.07
Version 2.0 baby!! I'm super excited about my new layout. I feel the colors and the background represent more of who I am right now. I made my Simply Lori logo dance in Flash since I wanted to show more of my skills and make my site more exciting.
Also all of the audio files should be working now when you click on them (providing I have enough server space haha!).
My resume is now also updated with my new job! I'm freelancing a video project for Verizon right now for a month. I'm super excited for the addition experience in Final Cut and the fact I might actually be able to make rent this month! Things are looking up, though now I know the real definition of "starving artist."

9.6.07
I created a much easier way to listen to my audio files. All you do is click and download and the file should open in Quicktime. Sadly though it makes them easier to steal, and doesn't involve Flash. I hope you like my work so much you want to steal it! Either way I am pleased that people are able to listen to it now.
I had some housing drama for a bit, but I'm still in NYC and plugging away. My internship ended on Friday, and now I am seriously looking for full time employment. I have some interviews and I've been making some contacts that will hopefully prove fruitful.

8.23.07
I tweaked my resume and cover letter about 80 more times and applied to literally about 30 jobs. Hopefully something will surface for me soon.
I also have the BETA editions of my audio up in the portfolio section of my site. Flash is not wanting to play nice with me after i compressed the audio to hell and back only to compress it again and embed it nicely in the coding. So it will play, but it takes awhile to start and the buttons I made to control the audio are worthless. The flash controller appears, but it is so small. Next time this is updated I'll either have the buttons working or the controller bigger. Also, when I update this next time I will hopefully have a job.

8.8.07
So I've been tweaking my resume and cover letter so they look all nice and pretty. You can download the pretty .pdf in the resume section of this website.
My last major effort on this site is to probably compress my audio files in Flash so that you, oh great reader, are able to hear my beautiful audio work as well. I might start on that now actually.
Still applying to jobs like crazy. Looking into some Masters Programs in film? I hope I find a job here in New York and then maybe start working on my Masters. I'm very open at this point in my life, but my time in New York is running short and I need to make some decisions soon.

7.13.07
Whew! It's been awhile, and I'm updating on Friday the 13th none-the-less. I've been spending my time graduating from college. I now have a BFA in Electronic Media and a Journalism Writing Certificate, and I graduated Cum Laude with a 3.607 GPA. On top of all that, I also received the Procter and Gamble New York Production Internship Award and am now living in New York City working on the soap opera As the World Turns .
Right now I'm spending some time by myself catching up on some projects like my website and applying for jobs once this internship is over in August. I'm really happy I've been able to follow my dreams thus far, and hopefully things will continue to look for my career in the future.

2.25.07
So I got up everything on my site so far except for my portfolio. Probably the most important part, but also the part that will take the most time to work on. I have placed links to my web work up because that is the easiest, but I'm still in the process of encoding all of my audio and video. This will take time.
In the meantime, I haven't heard back from any of the places that I applied to. Also, I have been very tired lately trying to finish all of my project for school as well and trying to get this up and running. I'm working hard cause I want to graduate with a 3.6 so I can get an awesome Latin name at the end of my name at graduation. It's the little things...

2.20.07
Wow. So after many hours of work, I have finally kind of got this site sort of working. It's going to take a lot more work because I'm teaching myself all CSS, but I'm really happy with how its going so far.
I've been applying for jobs, so hopefully I'll hear back from some of them soon. I really hate not knowing what I'm going to do once I graduate college. I'd rather just have it all figured out now, so I can make plans. But 109 days until I graduate! Woo-hoo!!
Well, I'm kind of sick, and I need to work more as well as try and finish this site. See you on the flip side.
